Monica Gould, founder and president of Strategic Consulting Partners, presented “Benefiting from a Multi-Generational Workforce” to the 2025 Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) Conference on June 2.

Monica at podium of PSAB ConferenceFor the first time in history there are four generations in the workplace, and the fifth (Generation Alpha) is just emerging as pre-teens. Speaking to representatives of PA’s 955 borough governments, Monica explored how each generation is shaped by its unique experiences growing up, and its members’ diverse ideas about what they want in their work and personal lives. These differences affect how they interact with each other, how they interpret each other’s behavior and performance, and their overall approach to work and its place in our life.

Discussions centered on:

  • What are each generation’s needs?
  • What are some strategies to understand them in depth?
  • What motivates each generation?
  • How best to engage and communicate with them?
  • How to adapt recruitment and workplace strategies to retain and grow PA’s talented workforce?

Monica shared all this and more!
