Mary Shaffran is a strategic and seasoned executive and coach, with experience ranging across the private, nonprofit, higher education, and public sectors. With subject area expertise in health care, public health and environmental information and science, and ability to apply business and organizational development principles to any field, Mary blends big picture viewpoints with tactical strategy to drive personal and organizational change.

Mary’s career has focused on growth, performance improvement, and healthy environments. She leverages her experience for the benefit of others through individual coaching, team coaching, teaching, and organizational consulting.

Ms. Shaffran has partnered as a coach with leaders at all levels, from college students to first-line managers to C-Suite executives in the private sector, non-profits, higher education, and in government. Ms. Shaffran is certified by the International Coaching Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and she recently completed a Masterful Coaching Program at George Mason University (GMU). She is also an Adjunct Faculty member at GMU, helping new coaches gain their coaching skills. In addition, Mary has an Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) from the ICF and completed the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well Being Program at GMU. She is also a certified facilitator.

Mary knows that humans reach their highest potential when supported by others. She provides an individualized and thoughtful approach, a deep knowledge of systems and best practices, and a sunny disposition to her clients. In collaboration with Mary, clients gain the knowledge and confidence they need to become their best selves.

Mary’s education includes a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Organization Development from the University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in piano from Converse College. She also participated in the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Outside of coaching and consulting activities, Ms. Shaffran is currently Vice President and President Elect of the West Springfield Rotary Club, a mentor for a college and graduate student, and sings professionally as a soprano soloist and ensemble member.
